The Story is the backbone of any project, without the words, even the greatest visuals in the world would fall flat. So this is where the producers began their journey. The producers decided that it was very important to remain true to the Mortal Kombat legend, so they created a so called bible. A written text of every detail concerning characters, storylines and background information. Although different stories are used for different MK projects, the bible insures consistency throughout.
Once the producers had the bible and agreed on a basic concept, it was time to write the script.
The screen writer wrote a rough draft and from that the producers created storyboards, a visual tool used to illustrate the action that goes along with the words. The storyboards and the script went through many modifications before the producers agreed they had it! The story that would propel the MK legend forward.
